Which Duvet Suits My Sleep Type?

Listen to your body: the best duvet is the one that lets you wake up refreshed — neither sweating nor shivering.
Heavy perspiration: Down or silk. Both materials transport moisture outward quickly and prevent heat build-up.
Feeling cold: Virgin wool or a down duvet with high loft power. Wool stores heat particularly efficiently without feeling heavy.
Allergies: All duvets from Hefel are NOMITE-certified and therefore demonstrably suitable for dust mite allergy sufferers. The seal confirms compliance with quality requirements according to DIN PAS 1008.
The all-rounder: An all-season duvet in warmth class 3 — the most popular model for Central Europe.

The Right Duvet for Every Season

Temperature differences between summer and winter have their greatest impact during the night hours. Hefel offers the right solution for every season:
Summer duvet (warmth class 1–2): Light, airy, moisture-regulating. Ideal weight: 100–135 g/m². Best fills: down (very light), cotton (absorbent), silk (cooling) or TENCEL® Lyocell. The casing made from linen or cotton provides additional breathability.
All-season duvet (warmth class 3): The flexible all-rounder for spring and autumn, when temperatures fluctuate. Ideal weight: 135–200 g/m². Wool and down regulate temperature in both directions — they warm without overheating.
Winter duvet (warmth class 4–5): Maximum warmth at minimal weight. Ideal weight: 200–300+ g/m². Down duvets are the first choice here: they trap air efficiently and lie feather-light on the body. Alternatively, virgin wool and cashmere offer excellent insulation.

Genuine Craftsmanship

Crafted by people who have learned their trade over generations.

Sustainability

Material, production, people – genuine sustainability. Fabrics traceable to the Atlantic coast.

Durable

Linen bedding can be washed at low temperatures and becomes softer with each wash.

Breathable

Linen bedding keeps you pleasantly cool in summer and cozy warm in winter. Bedding for all seasons.

Goose Down – the Premium Fill Material

Goose down consists of the fine plumules of geese — four times lighter than feathers, highly elastic and spreading in all directions. Their central property is loft power: the ability to return to their original shape after compression. The higher the loft power (measured in cuin), the better the warmth performance at lower weight.
Loft power depends on the origin of the geese — the more northern the region, the stronger the down. Eider duck down is considered the pinnacle. Hefel processes down in Austria in various quality levels — from the Alaska series through the DeLuxe and Platinum lines to the Gold and Silver collections. All down duvets are available as summer, winter and all-season variants.

Innovative Fill Materials from Hefel

Beyond classic down and wool, Hefel uses materials whose climatic properties specifically improve sleep comfort:
TENCEL® Lyocell (KlimaControl Comfort): A fibre made from wood pulp that absorbs 50% more moisture than cotton. Ideal for people who perspire heavily at night.
Swiss stone pine (Wellness Zirbe): Flakes of the Zirbe — a conifer that lives up to 1,000 years — are combined with Merino virgin wool. Studies by the Joanneum Research Institute show positive effects on heart rate and sleep depth.
Cashmere (Cashmere de Luxe): 70% cashmere, 30% virgin wool — the lightest and warmest natural fibre combination in the range.
Vitasan® hollow fibre (Wellness Vitasan): Hefel’s own development — a hollow fibre with optimised air circulation, washable at 60 °C.
The complete range with all model variants can be found on the Hefel brand page.

Care, Sizes and the Sleep System

Care: Always read the care label first — recommendations vary by fill. As a rule: a duvet cover is the best protection. Have down duvets professionally cleaned or tumble-dry at low temperature with tennis balls to re-loft. TENCEL® and Vitasan duvets are washable at 60 °C. Full tips at Care & Durability.
Standard sizes: 135x200 cm, 155x200 cm, 155x220 cm, 200x200 cm. Custom sizes on request.
The perfect sleep system: A restful night does not begin with the duvet alone. Hefel also produces pillows and mattress toppers — coordinated in material and climate properties. Those who choose a down winter duvet ideally pair it with a down pillow for a consistent sleep climate. For the TENCEL® duvet, the Bio-Timber mattress topper is the match. And as a base for any duvet, our linen bed sheets provide the perfect temperature-regulating foundation. Cover your duvet with linen bed linen for the most breathable combination.
