Five Categories, One Material

Tea towels: More absorbent than cotton, more lint-free than terry. In 6-packs from Libeco — classic stripes and checks, washable at 95 °C. The kitchen classic that professional chefs have preferred for generations.
Towels: From guest towel to bath sheet, in smooth, stonewashed or waffle piqué weave. Around 30 colour combinations. Linen towels dry themselves faster than terry — no musty smell on the hook.
Rugs: From runner (60x85 cm) to living room rug (240x300 cm). Cool underfoot in summer, warm in winter. More durable than wool, easier to maintain than synthetic.
Loungewear: Silk loungewear from Seidenweber — for the hours between bath and bed. Skin-gentle, temperature-regulating, flowing.
Dog beds: 70x70 cm from Libeco, orthopaedically supportive, removable cover washable at 60 °C. A sleeping place that fits into your living room rather than fighting against it.

Why Linen Is Superior in Kitchen and Bath

In kitchen and bath, three things matter: absorbency, drying speed and hygiene. Linen leads in all three categories.
Flax fibre absorbs up to 35% of its own weight in moisture — more than cotton. But the decisive difference lies in drying: linen releases moisture to the surrounding air instead of storing it in the fabric. A linen tea towel is dry again after an hour; a cotton one takes three. Less residual moisture means less odour formation and fewer germs.
Then there is the wash temperature: white linen towels tolerate 95 °C, coloured ones 60 °C. In the kitchen, where hygiene is non-negotiable, this makes linen the safest choice among natural fibres.
And the durability: linen tea towels and towels last decades with proper care — they replace vast quantities of paper kitchen towels and short-lived cotton alternatives. Ecologically and economically, it is a decision that pays for itself.

Sustainability

Material, production, people – genuine sustainability. Fabrics traceable to the Atlantic coast.

Durable

Linen bedding can be washed at low temperatures and becomes softer with each wash.

Breathable

Linen bedding keeps you pleasantly cool in summer and cozy warm in winter. Bedding for all seasons.

From the Kitchen to the Bedroom — Linen as a Household Material

Anyone who gets to know linen in the kitchen — through tea towels, through hand towels — quickly understands why the fabric has its origins in the bedroom. The same absorbency that makes the tea towel the best drying cloth creates dry nights as linen bed linen. The same temperature regulation that makes the towel feel cool on skin after a shower keeps the sleep climate stable as a linen bed sheet.
Libeco produces both — kitchen textiles and bed linen — in the same quality, from the same European flax. Those who switch their household piece by piece to linen often start in the kitchen and end up in the bedroom. Or vice versa.

Care — Easier Than You Think

Linen in kitchen and bath is more straightforward to care for than its reputation suggests: wash at 40–60 °C, tea towels at up to 95 °C. No fabric softener — it clogs the fibres and reduces absorbency. Air dry, ironing is optional. The slightly crumpled look is part of linen’s character. Full care tips at Care & Durability.
