The Guest House by Libeco – Come summer, be our guest

The Guest House by Libeco. The inspiration for this collection of linen bedding comes from the interior design of Spanish beach houses. It was named after the guesthouse where it was photographed. Our preference for pure and simple designs is now well known. This can also be seen in the spring collection. This season, we are focusing entirely on stripes—both horizontal and vertical—which can be combined beautifully.

Flax was already being retted in Belgium in the Middle Ages in the River Leie. From the middle of the last century, flax retting pits were used, in which the conditions of the “Golden River” were replicated. Today, retting usually takes place in the field. Here, the plant is exposed to dew, wind, and weather for several weeks. This causes the fibers to separate from the solid parts of the plant, allowing them to be harvested and spun into yarn.

In 2006, Libeco received the accolade of the Belgian royal family: “Belgian Royal Warrant Holder” is impressive recognition of the quality and service of this linen bedding. The “Belgian Linen” seal of quality is a guarantee of a high-quality product that complies with all the rules of sustainable business practices. All Libeco fabrics bear the coveted “Masters of Linen” label. This guarantees that the fabrics have been tested to meet the extremely high standards of this master class and that they are manufactured in Europe. “Eco Line” and “Oeko-Tex” give you the assurance that Libeco fabrics are free from harmful substances and that they have not been treated, bleached or dyed with chemicals.

Libeco is linen for the soul! This is once again evident in Libeco’s current collection, The Guest House. The Belgian linen manufacturer Libeco Lagae was founded in 1858 by Paul Libeert as a small workshop for hand-woven fabrics and is now one of Europe’s leading manufacturers of linen bedding. The Libeert family sees it as their duty to preserve the family tradition of linen processing and to help restore the importance of this noble fabric throughout the world. The introduction of new, innovative linen products that inspire and motivate their customers is Libeco’s central concern and driving force. They want to create things that inspire people, creating simple and timeless products in a world that is searching for true values.
