Where the good stuff comes from: Baltic linen

Where the good stuff comes from:

Baltic linen used to be something very special, a term like Meissen porcelain or Pilsner beer. Until the Great War, Baltic linen was synonymous with the highest quality and finest European design. Unfortunately, this was lost with the occupation of the Baltic states.

Today, some Baltic weaving mills such as Genix are continuing this tradition and showing the world that Baltic linen combined with Baltic craftsmanship can compete with the best linen bedding in the world. The result is fabrics for people who love a healthy lifestyle, high quality, and naturalness. Our weaving mill, Geniksa, designs all its products exclusively in the Baltic region and also manufactures them there. The best weaving mill in Lithuania selects the finest fabrics with love and care to create top quality and a completely authentic design.

How do Geniksa and the team manage to set and maintain these high standards? Well, there’s their meticulous attention to detail. Authentic designs that combine European modernity with Baltic tradition. Top-quality fabrics that are grown, processed, woven, and sewn in the north. As I said, it’s like Meissen porcelain or Pilsner beer: Baltic linen.

The Baltic States form a bridge between Scandinavia and Central Europe.

This spirit is reflected in the fabrics: the designs are a touch more playful than pure Scandinavian simplicity and functionality. At the same time, however, they temper the Central European penchant for opulence.

Genix Textile was founded with the aim of producing truly high-quality linen bedding. It is simply the best material for a good and restful night’s sleep. The linen bedding that was commonplace here in the Baltic States 10 years ago simply did not meet our standards of quality and design. Geniksa and the boss, Zivile, spent years studying the intricacies of linen production, visiting many Lithuanian production facilities and linen weaving mills. This idea became an obsession – to the point that Zivile took sewing classes so that she could check the quality of the sewing. At the same time, the products were developed over several years and everything was tested again and again in search of the best options. This is how Genix came into being.
