Arctica, a fine houndstooth in plain weave

Because the houndstooth lives inside the plain weave, it cannot rub off, and it shows identically on front and back. That matters on a flat sheet, where the edge folds back over the duvet. At 205 g/m², Arctica outweighs its matching bed linen. A yarn count of Nm 26 gives the cloth a dense, even hand. Under plain covers the pattern appears only when you turn the duvet back, a subtle contrast of texture. Linen also keeps warmth and coolness in balance through the year. Care

Arctica tolerates up to 60 degrees, the limit for coloured linen, whereas white pieces may go to 95. Still, every textile lives longer at lower heat, and linen too. Detergents with optical brighteners do harm here, as they bleach natural tones and would wash out the houndstooth. Fill the machine only loosely, so Arctica can move. A brief, soft spin leaves some moisture in the cloth, which prevents deep creases. If you iron at all, press the houndstooth on the hot linen setting while it remains slightly damp.
