Caroline Classic Linen Bedding by Geniksa
The Caroline Classic linen bedding takes its light grey and turns it, within the weave, into a silvery sheen. It takes no precious metal to sense the worth of this cloth. Rather, the look and the hand of the fabric persuade together. As the light moves through the day, the grey changes with it. Each piece carries the embroidered pine branch, small and almost private.

Silver in the flax
Geniksa makes its linen on the shores of the Baltic, from flax that grows only in European fields. Restraint defines the house, since in its view linen earns its place by presence and feel, not decoration. Caroline makes the point with light alone. The fibre structure catches the pale grey and returns it as a faint shimmer, so the colour gains a depth that plain cotton rarely reaches. Geniksa finishes the fabric purely mechanically, without chemicals. The Masters of Linen label confirms careful testing and production in Europe only, while Oeko-Tex Standard 100 rules out harmful substances.

Caroline, light grey linen with a silvery sheen

Caroline is the palest of the grey Geniksa designs, lighter than Heron and warmer than white. It suits bedrooms that should feel airy without giving up colour entirely. The cloth weighs 175 g/m², spun from Nm 26 yarn, and serves well in every season. Flax draws warmth and moisture away from the skin, so it feels noticeably cooler than cotton. Geniksa washes and mechanically finishes the linen; as a result it lies soft and creases less. In this Classic version, a standing hem replaces the coconut buttons of Caroline Buttons. Caroline Classic sits in the Geniksa bed linen collection beside Heron and Celeste.

Care

Caroline washes at up to 60 degrees, like all coloured linen, but a cooler wash helps it last. Optical brighteners do the most harm, because they bleach soft tones and make the fabric look washed out. Leave room in the drum for the cloth to move. Then spin briefly and gently, since linen needs some residual moisture to stay smooth. If you iron, a hot linen setting on still-damp cloth works best. That way the sheen keeps its quiet glow.
