Geneva, a plain weave in heavy linen

Geneva belongs to the Classics line, and its white is the plainest note Libeco strikes. Its yarn has a fineness of Nm 26, and the finished cloth weighs 175 g/m². Libeco weaves it densely in a plain construction, so it resists abrasion and suits a bed that someone makes up every day. Because the fabric receives a purely mechanical finish, it feels supple and creases less than raw linen. It arrives prewashed and therefore keeps its size. Care

White linen tolerates up to 95 degrees, although a cooler wash will keep Geneva longer. Optical brighteners do linen no favours, since they bleach the fibre and rob it of its natural tone. Load the drum loosely so the sheet can move freely. A short, gentle spin then leaves enough residual moisture to keep creases soft. If you like a smooth finish, iron Geneva on a hot setting while it is still slightly damp. Otherwise smooth it by hand and let the weight of the linen settle it on the mattress.
