The Vourkari Linen Coverlet and Cushion by Libeco is inspired by the Greek islands. The designer says: “The blue-green Aegean and the bronze-coloured, sun-drenched hills filled my thoughts as I created them. But it is not only the Greek landscape that inspires me – the simplicity of island life fascinates me again and again. That so much can come from so little is true alchemy. A few simple ingredients become wonderful culinary delights. From just a few natural materials, beautiful interiors emerge. What more does one need in life?”
The decorative bedspread has two different stripes, one towards the top and one towards the bottom. A seam runs through the centre, the sides are left without a hem, and the head and foot ends are finished with fringe. The cushion cover features the same stripes at top and bottom and has a zip.

Care

Coloured linen can be washed at up to 60°C, white linen at up to 95°C. As with all materials, the same applies to linen: washing at lower temperatures extends its life. Linen does not tolerate detergents with optical brighteners, as they strongly bleach the natural colours and the fabric becomes pale. Creasing: linen needs sufficient residual moisture to prevent excessive creasing. Do not overload the machine so the fabric can move freely, and do not spin linen too hard or too long. If you wish to iron linen, iron the pieces on the hot linen setting of your iron while they are still slightly damp. Even if it is convenient, avoid tumble-drying linen. Over-drying can cause shrinkage.
