Bed linen made from organic linen
Not all linen is equal. Organic linen bed linen differs in cultivation, processing and certification. GOTS-certified from Vieböck and Libeco. More on Linen Bed Linen.
Categories
In cultivation: no synthetic plant protection, no artificial fertilisers, no GMO seed. In processing: no chlorine bleaching, no harmful dyes. The result: a fabric demonstrably free from chemical residues. For people with sensitive skin or chemical sensitivities, this is not a luxury — it’s a requirement.
GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard): Most comprehensive. Certifies entire production path. At least 70% organic fibres. Strict environmental and social criteria.
OEKO-TEX Standard 100: Tests finished product for harmful substances. Says nothing about cultivation or working conditions.
IVN Best: Even stricter than GOTS. 100% organic fibres, strictest environmental requirements. Only a handful of European manufacturers qualify.

Organic linen bed linen is one of the most sustainable textile products you can buy. Compared to conventional cotton, flax requires up to 80% less water, does not require artificial irrigation and is fully biodegradable at the end of its life cycle.
If you’d like to explore this idea further, you’ll find a related alternative in our hemp bed linen from Vieböck: Hemp grows even faster than flax and yields more fibre per hectare. Both materials — organic linen and hemp — form the sustainability cluster at Linen Lounge for conscious purchasing decisions.
Even our conventional linen is produced sustainably — the difference lies in the seamless certification. You can find out more about origin and processing in our knowledge database.
Organic linen is cared for in exactly the same way as conventional linen: machine wash at 60°C, white organic linen at 95°C. No fabric softener — organic linen softens naturally. The fabric may shrink by 3–5% during the first wash, after which it retains its shape. You can find detailed care tips under Care & Durability.
Available in sizes 135x200, 155x220, 160x210, 200x200 and 220x240 cm, with matching cushion covers from 40x80 to 80x80. Exact availability varies depending on the manufacturer.
