Magical Corsica – Libeco Summer Collection 2017

This summer, the Libeco Summer Collection 2017 takes us to Corsica. It is one of the Mediterranean’s most magnificent islands, with unspoilt nature, breathtaking beaches and almost otherworldly colours. If you simply sit down in one of the many picturesque villages, inspiration comes all by itself as you take in the charming facades. Everything here is shaped by the Mediterranean, in splendid hues, faded by the ever-present sun. Not only the colours, but also the relaxed—indeed almost artistic—atmosphere that prevails there is reflected in the Libeco Summer Collection 2017. Libeco is linen for the soul.

Bed linen and bedspreads from the Libeco Summer Collection 2017

Campomoro

Campomoro takes its name from the famous Corsican beach. This fabric radiates exactly the typical summer energy that spreads through us at the sight of the first rays of sunshine. It is as if we are coming home to summer. This linen bed linen features flax-coloured and grey horizontal stripes on a white background.

Maora

A bed linen design that is essentially timeless has been given a completely new, fresh look with the typical colours of a South Corsican beach. With its warm colours and pleasant fabric, you will want to lie in Maora all year round. We have found that Maora is loved by children just as much as by adults! The satin weave gives the fabric its own distinctive sheen.

Propriano

Libeco borrowed this unusual name from a coastal town in the south of Corsica. Propriano is the perfect collection for a summer bed! The eggshell-coloured bedspread is hemmed in the centre and features asymmetrical stripes on each half with a beautifully embellished seam. The matching eggshell-coloured cushion has a wide stripe in the centre, with decorative yarn on each side.

Porto-Vecchio

This combination of bedspread and cushion is named after a breathtakingly beautiful little town in the south of Corsica. The Porto-Vecchio fabric has a slightly coarser texture, making it perfect for summer. The bedspread is made from a grey fabric whose yarns were dyed before weaving to achieve an even more intense colour. It is hemmed in the centre and finished with decorative yarn along the edge. The cushion cover combines eggshell with a grey yarn-dyed fabric and grey decorative yarn.

Table linen from the Libeco Summer Collection 2017

Giulia

Despite their subtle colours, these twill-woven tablecloths immediately stand out thanks to the central stripes in grey and brown. The collection takes its name from the magnificent Santa Giulia Bay in the south of Corsica.

Roccapina

With their open structure, these napkins add a beautiful accent to any set table. The inspiration for this pattern came from the Corsican Roccapina beach. Ash Stripe is a combination of eggshell and grey, finished with a thicker decorative yarn made from flax. Atene Stripe combines a flax-coloured stripe with a grey decorative yarn.

Fjord Washed

With its transparent, open weave, Fjord Washed is a quintessential summer collection. Thanks to its natural look and delicate colours, every meal served on it tastes twice as good. This collection features easy-to-combine colours and is suitable for any occasion.

Polylin Washed

These cloths combine high everyday practicality with delicate colours and a youthful look. Thanks to the blend of linen and polyester and an ‘easy care’ finish, ironing becomes virtually unnecessary. This linen is beautiful on its own, but also works perfectly on a fully set table.

Accessories and linen bags from the Libeco Summer Collection 2017

The Belgian Towel

The ideal beach towel or bath towel, and also suitable as a decorative throw. Oyster Stripe has an eggshell-coloured base with grey and flax-coloured stripes at each end. Ash Stripe features an eggshell-coloured base with grey accents and flax-coloured stripes.

Arinella

A light, summery scarf inspired by the natural colours found in Corsica. The eggshell-coloured Ash Stripe scarf, with grey accents at each end, is hemmed with flax-coloured yarn. The Oyster Stripe design has the same base colour and a satin-woven border 20 cm from each end.

Corse

A bag collection named after magical Corsica itself, made from a grey fabric with a slightly coarser texture.

– The shoulder bag features leather loops, a press-stud closure and eggshell-coloured linen on the inside. A cotton decorative piping on each side completes the bag.

– The wash bag has cotton decorative piping on the sides and an eggshell-coloured linen lining. The zip is finished with leather.

– The pouch keeps all small items together. It can be used with a larger bag or on its own. With cotton decorative piping on the side and leather on the zip.

Kitchen towels from the Libeco Summer Collection 2017

Porticcio

Multi-coloured stripes adorn each side of the Porticcio towel. The fabric does not shed lint and does not leave streaks, making it ideal for drying. Also a wonderful gift!

Ajaccio

A central stripe in delicate colours on an eggshell-coloured towel. Ajaccio is ideal for drying glasses without streaks or lint—perfect for your kitchen or as a gift!

How often should you wash linen bed linen?
