Caroline Buttons Linen Bedding by Geniksa
Caroline Buttons linen bedding by Geniksa takes a colour usually thought neutral and gives it presence. The light grey carries a silvery sheen that shifts with the light, while the weave adds a fine lustre. Cut in the classic way, the set looks good even on mornings when the bed stays unmade. Handmade buttons of coconut shell close the covers. Against the pale linen, they set an appealing contrast.

Silver grey, woven by the sea
Geniksa keeps its style simple and nearly purist, out of affection for the natural material. For the mill, pure linen needs no argument, since its look and feel make the case. Caroline Buttons puts that belief into a pale, silvery light grey that lets the weave do the talking. Masters of Linen, the label every Geniksa fabric carries, stands for strict testing and production exclusively in Europe. Alongside it, Oeko-Tex Standard 100 and Eco Line keep harmful substances out of the picture. Geniksa avoids chemical brighteners and bleach and finishes mechanically. The flax is European, the weaving happens on the Baltic coast, and the whole process runs carbon-neutral.

Description

Caroline, light grey Buttons linen

Caroline is the lighter grey sister of Heron within the Buttons designs. Where Heron leans warmer and darker, Caroline gives a room more lightness, especially when daylight fills it. The contrast between pale linen and dark buttons therefore appears stronger here. Flax regulates temperature, cooling in summer and keeping warmth in winter. It also stays fresh noticeably longer between washes than comparable cotton, thanks to fibres that absorb moisture and shed dirt. Mechanical finishing turns the 175 g/m² cloth soft and skin-friendly, and it softens further with every wash. You will find Caroline Buttons within the Geniksa bed linen collection, next to Heron and the other designs.

Care

Caroline washes at up to 60 degrees; a lower setting, however, lets the light grey last longer. Avoid detergents with optical brighteners, as they bleach natural shades and would lighten the grey. Keep the load small enough for the fabric to move. A brief, gentle spin preserves the residual moisture that linen needs against heavy creases. Should you wish to iron, use the hot linen setting while the cover still feels slightly damp. Caroline also looks composed when left as it is.
