Caspia linen bedding from Geniksa invites a closer look at its fine structure, although sleep usually arrives before curiosity finds an answer. In the words of its designer, Caspia is classic white bed linen with a grey piping. That thin, dark line frames the white without covering it. The linen gives off warmth, yet it holds on to the climate function found only in real linen. Soft from washing, it asks for nothing more than an evening.

A dark line on Baltic linen
Geniksa’s plain, almost purist manner grows out of respect for nature. The mill trusts pure linen to speak for itself, through its presence and its unmistakable touch. Caspia adds just one gesture to that silence, an anthracite edge, and so the white feels framed rather than decorated. Masters of Linen, carried by every Geniksa fabric, certifies careful testing and European manufacture. Eco Line and Oeko-Tex Standard 100 add the assurance that no harmful substances remain. The flax grows in Europe; Geniksa weaves it on the Baltic coast and finishes it mechanically, with carbon-neutral production. For the bed beneath, the house offers matching linen sheets and fitted sheets.

Caspia, white linen with anthracite piping

In minimalist bedrooms Caspia proves its worth. The anthracite piping along the edges draws a quiet contour, and it also shows at once which way the duvet cover and pillowcase should face. Because the linen is white, it tolerates washes at up to 95 degrees, which suits sensitive skin. At 175 g/m² the fabric stays light enough for summer, yet dense enough to hold body warmth in winter. Long flax fibres absorb moisture and keep dirt away, therefore the bedding stays fresh between washes. Mechanical finishing makes it soft and helps it crease less. Caspia sits within the Geniksa bed linen collection as framed white linen with a dark outline.

Care

As white linen, Caspia accepts up to 95 degrees, whereas coloured pieces stay at 60. Still, washing cooler extends the life of the fibre. Leave optical brighteners aside, since they bleach natural colours, the dark piping included. Give the cloth room in the drum and spin it only briefly and gently. Linen needs some residual moisture, so that it does not crease too deeply. An iron at the hot linen mark smooths it best, as long as some moisture lingers.
