Cygnus Strong Linen Bedding by Geniksa
Cygnus Strong linen bedding by Geniksa is the house classic in a heavy quality. Its linen weighs 205 g/m², noticeably more than the 175 g/m² of the finer line. The difference shows in the hand and in the fall of the cloth. Brilliant white and classic hems recall a time when quality went without saying. As was once the custom, each piece carries an embroidered pine branch, the Geniksa logo. Lighter linen flows; Cygnus stands with more body.

Heavy linen from the Baltic coast
Geniksa’s style is plain and almost purist, grounded in a respect for nature. Linen of this weight demonstrates the conviction of the mill better than any word: pure linen persuades by presence and by touch. For Cygnus Strong, Geniksa weaves a denser cloth on the Baltic coast from flax of European cultivation. The finishing stays purely mechanical, and production runs carbon-neutral. Every fabric from the house carries Masters of Linen, the label for exacting tests and exclusively European manufacture. Oeko-Tex Standard 100 and Eco Line confirm, moreover, that no harmful substances remain. Beneath this heavyweight white linen, the fine sheets and fitted sheets from Geniksa make a natural foundation.

Description

Cygnus Strong, heavy white linen

Choosing between the fine and the strong linen of Geniksa comes down to character. The fine line feels softer and lighter on the skin, while Cygnus proves more durable and more pronounced in the hand. Even so, both share the virtues of flax. Long, smooth fibres absorb moisture and shed dirt, which keeps the bedding fresh between washes. Linen balances temperature, which keeps the heavy cloth comfortable in summer and warming in winter. The mechanical finish makes it supple and helps it crease less, and the dense weave grows softer and smoother with every wash. Cygnus Strong takes its place in the Geniksa bed linen collection as the heaviest design.

Care

White linen of this weight accepts washes at up to 95 degrees, a real advantage for allergy sufferers and households with high standards of hygiene. A lower temperature, however, will preserve the fibre for longer. Avoid optical brighteners, since linen does not tolerate them well. Fill the machine only partly and spin briefly at a gentle speed, so enough residual moisture remains to limit creasing. When you iron, choose the linen setting at full heat while some dampness lingers in the cloth.
