Celeste Buttons linen bedding by Geniksa brings a fresh, light blue into the bedroom. The pastel tone feels cool without turning cold, and it lends the room lightness and calm. Blue has a reputation for quiet, so it settles easily into a space meant for sleep. At the closures, handmade buttons of coconut shell add a warm brown accent and a hint of the south. Beneath it all, the climate function of flax works through the night.

Pastel blue from the Baltic
Geniksa’s style is reserved and nearly purist, born of a fondness for nature. Pure linen, the mill holds, convinces by its presence and its feel rather than by decoration. Celeste Buttons shows how much colour that restraint allows: a pastel blue, clear yet never loud. The mill finishes its cloth purely mechanically, free of chemistry and bleach. Each Geniksa fabric bears the Masters of Linen label, and with it the assurance of demanding tests and of manufacture in Europe alone. Oeko-Tex Standard 100 and Eco Line vouch for the absence of harmful substances. Meanwhile the flax grows in European fields, and weaving on the Baltic coast stays carbon-neutral. Geniksa linen sheets and fitted sheets complete the set.

Description

Celeste, light blue Buttons linen

Celeste shows colour more openly than most designs in the range, yet it never raises its voice. This pastel blue linen pairs with white furniture as well as with wood, and white or grey Geniksa sheets sit easily beneath it. Linen suits the skin particularly well. Its long, smooth fibres absorb plenty of moisture and repel dirt, so the bedding stays fresh for longer. Moreover, flax evens out temperature: pleasantly cool in summer, comfortably warm in winter. The fabric weighs 175 g/m² and softens through mechanical finishing, which reduces creasing and keeps it gentle. Celeste Buttons forms part of the Geniksa bed linen collection, alongside its quieter white and grey neighbours.

Care

Celeste copes with 60 degrees, though a cooler programme keeps the blue clear for longer. Leave optical brighteners out of the detergent drawer, because they bleach natural colours and dull the pastel tone. Fill the drum only loosely, so the linen has space. Spin at a low speed and not for long, since residual moisture keeps creasing in check. To iron, choose the hot linen setting and work while the fabric remains slightly damp. Even unironed, the pale blue rests calmly on the bed.
