Celeste linen tablecloth from Geniksa
The Celeste linen tablecloth from Geniksa wears a cool pastel blue. The shade seems borrowed from a Monet painting, soft and full of air. Once it covers the table, the dining room brightens almost at once. Meanwhile, the familiar qualities of flax lend the meal an easy, pleasant atmosphere. It is a colour that asks for little and returns a great deal. Like every Geniksa tablecloth, Celeste carries an embroidered pine branch. The cloth itself is 100 per cent washed linen.

Pastel blue, woven by the sea
Nature sets the tone at Geniksa, which explains its plain, almost purist style. Celeste borrows the sky for its colour and leaves everything else to the linen. Pure linen, in the Geniksa view, needs nothing but its own presence and feel. The flax for it grows only in Europe. Afterwards, the weaving takes place on the Baltic Sea, in a process that runs carbon-neutrally. A Masters of Linen label accompanies every Geniksa fabric and certifies demanding tests and a production chain that stays within Europe. Celeste also meets Oeko-Tex Standard 100 and the Eco Line criteria, so it contains no harmful substances and receives no chemical treatment.

Description

Celeste, cool pastel blue in linen

Cool and fresh, the pastel blue of Celeste lightens any table. It also carries whatever tableware you choose. Its 240 g/m² give the cloth weight, so it lies smooth and stable and falls elegantly at the edges. The yarn fineness is Nm 26. Dirt finds little grip on the dense flax fibre, and the tablecloth washes at up to 60 degrees. Mechanical finishing alone gives the linen its pleasant hand. Summer lunches suit it especially well, though the colour works all year. Runners, placemats and napkins match it, and Celeste is one of the designs in the Geniksa tablecloths collection.

Care

Celeste falls under coloured linen, which means 60 degrees at most; white linen may go to 95. As with every material, a lower temperature extends the life of the cloth. Keep optical brighteners away from it, because they bleach out natural colours and would leave the pastel blue faded. Do not pack the drum; the linen should have room to move. A gentle, short spin is enough. Residual moisture reduces creasing. Anyone who irons should do so on the hot linen setting, ideally while the tablecloth still feels slightly damp.
