Heron Classic linen bedspread from Geniksa
The Heron Classic linen bedspread from Geniksa is quilted pure linen in a warm grey. Its fine structures invite a closer look, although sleep usually wins before curiosity does. At 380 grams per square metre the cloth has real substance, and it falls smoothly over bed or sofa. The quilting seams lend the grey extra depth and dimension. By day it guards the bed. On cooler nights, then, it becomes a light blanket of its own.

A grey made for day and night
Geniksa developed its quilted spreads together with specialists and designers from Germany, Great Britain and Lithuania. The result follows the house style, spare and almost puristic, because the mill trusts pure linen to show itself. Heron Classic also works as a lazy duvet cover: nobody needs to pull a cover on or off for washing. Instead, the whole piece goes into the washing machine and even into the dryer. Its flax grows in European fields before the looms on the Baltic Sea take over, carbon-neutrally. Heron Classic qualifies for Masters of Linen, and Oeko-Tex together with Eco Line rules out harmful substances.

Description

Heron Classic, quilted pure linen in warm grey

Heron Classic weighs 380 g/m², substance you feel the moment you lift it. The yarn count is Nm 26, and the linen arrives washed, so it drapes softly from the first day. Geniksa finishes the fabric purely mechanically, which keeps it kind to the skin and lets it crease less. Linen also balances temperature, so the bedspread remains useful in every season. In addition, the long fibres absorb moisture and repel dirt. For the layer beneath, fine Geniksa linen sheets and fitted sheets suit it well. Heron Classic belongs to the Geniksa bedspreads collection.

Care

Heron Classic tolerates a 60 degree machine wash, as coloured linen does, and then a turn in the dryer. Lower temperatures, however, keep linen longer, as with every material. Avoid any detergent containing optical brighteners: it bleaches natural colour and would turn this grey pale. Give the drum enough space, so the heavy spread can move. Spin it neither too hard nor too long, because some residual moisture prevents deep creases. For ironing, wait until the quilted linen is only slightly damp, then choose the hot setting.
