Heron Buttons linen bedding by Geniksa begins with the yarn. Geniksa tints it a light grey before weaving, and that gives the linen its characteristic structure, so no two pieces look quite alike. Classic bedding has long been the signature of the house, and Heron follows it calmly. What sets it apart sits at the closure: handmade buttons of coconut shell. They bring a touch of the exotic into an otherwise reserved, Nordic style.

Behind Heron stands a mill with a clear, almost purist idea of beauty. Geniksa holds that linen convinces through its bearing and its feel alone, and for that reason it keeps ornament to a minimum. The warm grey of Heron Buttons follows that thinking, because the tone lives in the yarn rather than on the surface. All Geniksa fabrics hold the Masters of Linen label, proof of rigorous testing and of manufacture within Europe only. Furthermore, Oeko-Tex Standard 100 and Eco Line confirm a cloth free of harmful substances. European flax, a loom on the Baltic coast and carbon-neutral production complete the picture. Description

Heron, warm grey Buttons linen

Grey can feel cold, yet the warm grey linen of Heron carries a sense of shelter. The colour also underlines the natural structure of the fibre, which varies slightly across the surface. Linen lets the skin breathe more freely than most fabrics. Thanks to its long, smooth fibres it takes up moisture, sheds dirt and stays fresh between washes. It cools on warm nights and warms on cold ones, therefore Heron serves the whole year. Mechanical finishing, with no chemistry involved, makes the 175 g/m² cloth supple and kind to the skin. Heron Buttons forms part of the Geniksa bed linen collection, which gathers the bed linen designs of the house.

Care

Heron tolerates washing at 60 degrees, but cooler cycles serve linen better over the years. Detergents with optical brighteners would bleach the natural colouring, so leave them aside. Do not crowd the machine, since the fabric needs room. A short, gentle spin leaves enough residual moisture to limit creasing. Whoever likes a pressed finish can iron Heron on the hot linen setting, ideally while it still feels a little damp. The warm grey also looks well with a relaxed crease.
