Natural Classic Linen Bedding by Geniksa
The Natural Classic linen bedding leaves the flax exactly as it grew. No dye and no bleach come near it. The colour you see is therefore the colour of the fibre itself, a light beige with a faint warmth. That restraint suits a bedroom of wood and muted earth tones. Linen also does its quiet work at night, cooling when the air is warm and holding warmth when it turns cold. Nothing here asks for attention, and yet the bed looks finished.

Flax left as it grew
Geniksa weaves on the Baltic coast and draws its flax solely from European fields. The house has always preferred a plain, almost purist line, because it believes pure linen needs no decoration. Natural Classic carries that conviction quite literally. The yarn stays undyed, and the cloth receives only mechanical finishing, free from chemistry. Eco Line and Oeko-Tex Standard 100 both certify the absence of harmful substances. The Masters of Linen label adds a second assurance: European manufacture throughout and testing against demanding standards. Finally, a pine branch embroidered on each piece serves as the house signature, in the way good linen once carried a mark.

Description

Natural Classic, undyed flax in light beige

Natural Classic shows the flax fibre in its original state, its light beige undisturbed by any dye. Over the years the tone may shift slightly, which gives each piece a character of its own. The cloth weighs 175 g/m² and uses Nm 26 yarn, so it suits every season. Long flax fibres absorb moisture and repel dirt; therefore the bed stays fresh for longer between washes. Because Geniksa finishes the linen mechanically, it feels soft and creases less while keeping its natural look. The classic hem completes the purist line without buttons. Natural Classic rests within the Geniksa bed linen collection, beside the white and grey designs.

Care

Natural tones such as this light beige wash at up to 60 degrees, though a cooler cycle prolongs the life of any linen. Optical brighteners do the real damage here, since they bleach the natural colour and leave the fabric pale. Fill the machine loosely, so the linen has room to move. Keep the spin moderate and short, because residual moisture prevents heavy creasing. Then, if you want a smoother surface, iron it hot, on the linen mark, while a trace of damp remains.
